adjustments
I gave up and left a little early yesterday for home and rest. Since my front left tire was a little low, I stopped at a Shell to add some air back to it. Sadly the air hose wasn't working, or rather wasn't sealing to allow the new air in, and instead ended up draining more air from my tire. grr... So I drove up the road a little further on even less air and finally pulled into the most expensive Exxon ever, which luckily has free air, so all was well.

By the time I got home I realized that I needed to ice the back of my head. It was aching me and likely the source of a lot of discord in my brain, including the headache. So, I iced it and had some warm tea, and I iced it while I had a nap, and then I iced it again before bed. It was much looser this morning, if still tight, thanks to icing and flexeril, so I went into the chiro for a wonderful adjustment before coming into work. I am feeling much better, if not 100%, so I have a massage scheduled with Wendy OTMH tomorrow morning. That should set me a-right.

Looking forward to MTA this weekend at Jamestown, even if the weather does look typically cool and damp. It won't be freezing, but the dampness always makes things a little more misery inducing. At least total deluge is not called for, just thundershowers on Saturday. Sunday looks nice. Of course I haven't done any upgrades to my kit. I need to do a proper pair of bodies, and more than the one doublet, but I haven't. I haven't even finished the simple shift I started last year for May, nor the forehead cloths and extra coif I cut out back in June. I'm such a slacker. Regardless, I think it will be nice to get back into costume. I haven't dressed up since Ymir in my Viking. Very bizarre feeling, it being the middle of March and I've only managed one SCA event so far this year. You'd think I would have at least been productive in all this downtime, but apparently not.

Come on by, visit, see new stuff, receive hot beverages (I'm going to be setting up a brazier to warm stuff, mostly to show people how they work.

Mmm... Hot beverages... and pottery to put them in... Now that is tempting...

There will be assorted foodstuffs as well. Not sure exactly what yet, but we'll see what suggests itself at the supermarket tomorrow.

We'll be with Greys, we're always pretty close to the entrance to the fort. Will you be in the fort itself?

See you there!

I had so much fun poking around Greys' last year. Kim had some tasty foodstuffs to share.

We'll be fleshing out the ranks inside the fort for Jamestown, like Gardiners' folks normally do. I will try to come by and visit and bring my *gasp* camera.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to bring along a loaf of bread – we’ll see what I get done Friday night. Technically, we’re not sharing with the public, but sharing with friends is another thing…

Yeah, we only share food made in the fort with staff and other volunteers. It was kinda fun the one time folks were asking me about the food, and after I finished telling them we couldn't feed them, I took a big bite of a mince tart and assured them it was very tasty though. ;)

Mmm.. fresh bread. I was wondering if anyone is planned to staff the Devon oven in the fort this weekend. I could do that again if someone else does the dough.

Yes, one outfit for reenactment. Fully understand that. I've been to 3 events since Unevent - University, KASF, and Baronial Investiture. Its a weird feeling and one that I'm happy with too. More time for life in general.

With the house stuff at the forefront of my mind, i'm just fine with not running to one event after another...

Will see you at MTA in my one dress.. :)

Well, I guess by not going to events it is not like I've been idle. Went up to Plimoth, down to NC, we had our Gardiners' Yule, Ymir, a close friend's shower and wedding, oh and the cold of doom.

Are you going to have tasty desserts to sample again? Then I'll definitely swing by for a visit. :)

Nope, just the food to eat for us for the event. Those of us that would normally put on the spread have life stuff happening and no time, so we're just doing the basics... :)

But you are always welcome to have some!

Your Jamestown outfit looks great on you - better to have one good one than 20 cruddy ones. Hope you're feeling better.
